The 4th Panhellenic Logging Championship was held with absolute success on Saturday, September 16, at the Forestry History Museum of Mainalo, in the village of Chrysovitsi. With its distinctive character and loyal to its annual appointment, it welcomed for the fourth year lovers of the genre from all over Greece, giving unique moments to all present. Major sponsor of the event for another year was Husqvarna, world leader in green care products.
This year, stronger than ever, all those present sent the message of the need to protect the forest, through their presence and their participation in the action. The contestants who took part in the competitions showed their talent in the context of "fair competition" and the spectators who watched the competitions were impressed by the techniques and the type of competitions.
Everyone had the chance to win rich Husqvarna® gifts, while the 3 big winners received the company's professional chainsaws as prizes.
The big winner in 1st place was Mr. Panagiotis Economou, winning the professional chainsaw 592XP. Mr. Charalambos Boudouvas won the 2nd place, winning the professional chainsaw 572XP. Finally, Mr. Anastasios Fourkiotis, emerged in 3rd place, winning the professional chainsaw 562XP.
To enrich the experience of both the public and the competitors, the Championship was framed by a multitude of parallel events and thematic activities.
The talented woodcarver, Mr. Angelos Patsiatzis, performed a live demonstration of woodcarving with a chainsaw, mesmerizing the spectators with his art. He created an impressive wood sculpture, the "Spirit of the Forest", for Pantelis Papadopoulos SA, which in turn donated it to the Museum of Forest History for visitors to enjoy.
It is important to mention that this important event has been included in the European Mobility Week of the Municipality of Tripoli, while it was held under the auspices of it, as well as of the Vytina Forestry. In addition, those who attended the games were able to take advantage of the free guided tour of this very interesting Museum, which covers the entire history of logging production and art in our country and is undoubtedly an important legacy of culture. Mr. Thodoris Tsamis, in charge of the Museum, provided all the necessary historical and technical information to the visitors of the Museum, conducting interesting guided tours of the site.
