The "Socca World Cup 2019" mini soccer championship is the world's leading event in the sport of mini soccer (5x5 / 6x6 / 7x7 / 8x8) and will be held in Rethymno, Crete from 12 to 20 October 2019.
48 national teams with internationally renowned footballers from all over the world (Brazil, Argentina, England, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, India, China, USA, Russia and others) will compete for the title of champion through a round 96 matches, which will be refereed by Mark Clattenburg, the most famous referee of the last 20 years.
The stadium is being built exclusively for the needs of the event by Greek companies in order to accommodate more than 3,000 spectators. The matches will be shown by local, national and international media and are expected to gather the interest of 1.2 million Greeks and 40 million viewers worldwide.
The event is the most important global sporting event that we have hosted in our country for the last 10 years and is supported by the Region of Crete.
