May 20 | World Bee Day

On the occasion of World Bee Day, the Pantelis Papadopoulos group, Gardena, the non-profit organization The Bee Camp and the Child's Smile are joining forces for a more sustainable future for everyone!
Our day is planned to be full of learning, play, gifts and surprises and we don't stop there! With the support of Gardena, it will be placed in the house of the Smile, an insect host: the innovative Click Up system which, in addition to a safe resting place for bees, butterflies and ladybugs, encourages the development of sustainability in our garden making our world more welcoming!

Bees: The Queens of Pollination

But why are bees so important to our lives? Bees are pollinators and allow many plants to reproduce. Thus, they provide us with an abundance of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
Beyond the quantity, however, they play an important role in both the variety and the quality of food, a fact that vitally affects our diet. Pollinators also contribute directly to medicines, biofuels, fibers such as cotton and linen, and building materials. Finally, they act as sentinels for extreme environmental hazards, signaling the health of local ecosystems.

Let's all help!

Bees unfortunately face many challenges. Climate change, the use of dangerous chemicals in crops, habitat loss and shortages in their food sources are some of the problems that put many bee species at risk. How can we help?

• We plant flowers in our garden and balcony.
• We install insect shelters.
• We protect and do not destroy their nests.
• Sharing the importance of bees to the ecosystem with a friend.
