"PANTELIS PAPADOPOULOS SA" with deep sorrow announces the loss of its founder, Pantelis M. Papadopoulos. For 65 years, Pantelis M. Papadopoulos has been a model of hard work and dignity, transmitting his morals to his family and to the company's employees. His professional audacity led him to become, in 1962, the first machine dealer of the Swedish company Husqvarna worldwide.

A visionary, a lover of nature, he was a man with a deep sense of responsibility and giving back to society.

His two children, Pantelis and Alexandros, will continue the course with the same principles and values.

Resume

Pantelis M. Papadopoulos was born in Piraeus in 1932 and had refugee origins from Smyrna in Asia Minor. He married Niki-Violeta Nikitakis and they had two sons, Pantelis and Alexandros.

He began his career in the Air Force, but his creativity and inner drive for personal and professional achievement led him in late 1959 to seek new challenges in the business world.

His technical background and knowledge as well as his passion for nature led him to the Agricultural & Forestry Equipment industry. In 1961 he founded his first business for repairing machinery and agricultural equipment. In 1962 he succeeded in becoming the first Husqvarna machine dealer outside of Sweden. Since then, he managed to create the leading Greek Group of Companies in the field of forest & garden machinery, agriculture, power generation, building & construction, etc., representing the most well-known brands of the respective industries worldwide.

In the background of all these years he gained the appreciation, recognition and respect of his partners, suppliers and all those who worked with him. He was the vice-president of SEAM, a member of the board of the Hellenic-Swedish Chamber and participated in a number of organizations. In 2023 he was awarded for his overall contribution to the machinery industry.

The funeral service will be held at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in the Papagou Cemetery on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of wreaths, if desired, support the ELEPAP organization.
