The 5th Panhellenic Husqvarna Logging Championship took place with complete success on Saturday, September 14, at the "Apolymeni Petra" hotel complex, in the Municipal Community of Taxiarchis of the Municipality of Polygyros.
The Logging Championship, with its distinctive character and faithful to its annual appointment, welcomed for the fifth year the lovers of the genre from all over Greece, giving unique moments to all those present.
In a demanding battle arena, the contestants showcased their talent and technical ability in the four events, offering an impressive spectacle to the audience and jury. For the first time in the history of the championship, among the participants there was also a woman, a member of the Polygyros Fire Service.
The big winner in 1st place was Mr. Dimitris Tsakalis, winning the professional chainsaw 592XP. Mr. Panagiotis Oikonomou won the 2nd place, winning the professional chainsaw 572XP. Finally, Mr. Giorgos Iliopoulos was awarded 3rd place with a prize of the professional chainsaw 562XP.
All visitors had the chance to win rich Husqvarna gifts by participating in a raffle.
A series of parallel actions throughout the Championship made the experience of visitors and competitors even richer.
The talented woodcarver, Angelos Patsiatzis, performed a live chainsaw woodcarving demonstration, mesmerizing the audience with his art.
Yannis Harbilas performed a live arborist show and impressed with his climbing skills combined with his skill in using chainsaws, highlighting the importance of the work of arborists.
Amongst the sounds of chainsaws, visitors had the opportunity to experience unique in taste and quality truffle products from Forest Garden Truffles & Mushrooms, to watch the process of making mushroom soup by Nikos Athanasiadis and of course to taste it.
Finally, the tireless presenter of the event, Christos Nezos, gave even more pace and vitality to the championship.
The event was supported by the Municipality of Polygyros, the Forestry Department of Polygyros, the Fire Service of Polygyros, the Forestry Department of Egaleo, ELEFED and the Greek Rescuers.
